Brazil Consolidates Its Position as Global Leader in Agribusiness

Líder global no agronegócio

Brazilian agribusiness has reached a historic milestone with the opening of 300 new international markets in less than two years, consolidating the country’s position as one of the leading export powers in the sector. This progress is the result of joint efforts between the  Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (MAPA) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MRE), which worked strategically to expand Brazil’s participation in global trade.

Expansion and Diversification of Brazilian Exports

In the last 23 months, Brazil has added 62 new destinations to its export portfolio, significantly expanding the range of products offered to the international market. Beyond traditional exports of  meat and grains, the country now trades items such as:

  • Embryos;
  • Sesame;
  • Fresh grapes;
  • Yerba mate;
  • Sorghum;
  • Açaí powder;
  • Seeds;
  • Pecan nuts;
  • Animal recycling products (poultry feathers, among others).

This diversification enhances Brazil’s competitiveness and strengthens its position in foreign trade.

Infrastructure and Foreign Trade Facilitation

To ensure this progress, the government invested in the expansion of the agricultural attaché network, with the establishment of 11 new strategic posts in target markets. These offices play a fundamental role in overcoming technical barriers, facilitating negotiations, and promoting Brazilian products abroad.

Outlook for 2025 and Strengthening Partnerships

With a positive outlook for 2025, Brazil aims to strengthen its trade partnerships and intensify international promotion efforts. The goal is to continue expanding the presence of Brazilian agricultural products in major global markets, ensuring competitiveness and sustainability in the sector.

Agribusiness continues to be one of the pillars of the Brazilian economy, driving exports, job creation, and innovation in the sector. The expansion into new markets represents a crucial step in further consolidating Brazil’s position as one of the global leaders in agricultural trade.
